University Police and Transportation Services

University Police and Transportation Services is dedicated to serving the university community and ensuring the security of our university. This area of Business and Financial Affairs includes the University Police Department, Transportation Services, Parking, and the Western Card/University Box Office. 

University Police Department

Western's University Police Department is dedicated to 24-hour safety and security of our university community. The department works directly with Transportation Services, local law enforcement, and campus partners to ensure the safest and most accessible campus possible.

Transportation Services

Transportation Services works to ensure that Western continues to be a leader in sustainability by focusing on providing high quality transportation options for students and employees. While Transportation Services coordinates transportation alternatives, they also provide critical security through their Parking operations.

This area manages Western Card eligibility and benefits for students and employees and the mobile card system. Additionally, they support ticket sales for Western events by serving as the University's Box Office.

Assistant Vice President for Security and Chief of Police

Katy Potts, the Assistant Vice President (AVP) for Security and Chief of Police, brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise in community partnership and public safety. With 25 years of law-enforcement experience, Chief Potts is passionate about fostering a safe university environment and emphasizes collaboration with students, staff, and faculty. Her leadership is marked by a dedication to upholding the law while prioritizing the well-being of the university community.
