Aquatics

The WWU Pool

The aquatics program includes recreational swimming, swimming lessons, and lifeguard training. With open swim hours and special events, the pool serves as a welcoming space for all skill levels.

Climbing Wall

The climbing wall offers opportunities for both new and experienced climbers to challenge themselves in a safe and supportive environment. With bouldering, top-rope routes, clinics, and special events, it’s a great way to build strength, confidence, and community.

Group Fitness

Group fitness classes provide energizing workouts in a welcoming setting. Campus Recreation Services offers a wide variety of classes including Pilates, strength training, yoga, and more. These classes bring people together to improve fitness, reduce stress, and have fun.

Intramural Sports

Sport clubs give students the chance to pursue their favorite sports in a competitive setting. Led by students and supported by Campus Recreation, the goal is to promote individual leadership through group participation.

Director for Campus Recreation Services

Adam Leonard has been on the Campus Recreation Services' team since 2006. Adam started as the Associate Director for Campus Recreation Services before becoming the Director in 2015. He has spent the last 25 years in both Athletics and Recreation Management. Before coming to Western, Adam held similar positions at the University of Nevada at Las Vegas and was the Director of Athletics and Physical Education at the Westmark School in Los Angeles, California. Leonard received his bachelor’s degree in Natural Science/Biology from the University of Puget Sound in 1999 and his master's degree in physical education from Idaho State University in 2000.
